When the task is to repeat a certain product, usually there is a picture of the children’s film «Adventures in the holidays» in my head, where the main character could duplicate different objects by her belt. Or a more modern version — a young man drives a three-dimensional scanner around the object, and then presses the «print» button and a copy of the object appears in the three-dimensional printer. But it is way more difficult in real life. You cannot just copy the object, but it is possible to design a new one with an eye on the old characteristics. In other words, it is necessary to spend almost as much time on engineering and design as it was spent for the production of the parent product.
The Beon Company has chosen the right way — you need to take the best from the competitors’ product and to present your own as quickly as possible. To do this, first we worked on large desktop oven, but now it was the turn of small, cheaper models for the broader market. The Formlab designers earn their keep — now we are waiting for the prototype, and then the product itself on the shop shelves across the country.
We thank Zadran Ali for this project.
